RECREATION THERAPY is a means to psychological and physical health, recovery and well-being.

CFG’s full-time recreation therapists create a plan for each resident that includes pathways for youth to achieve physical, cultural and social accomplishments. Residents learn to use their community as an invaluable resource and support structure. Activities offered are safe, fun, rewarding, and developmentally appropriate. Both off-unit recreational and daily living activities are regularly scheduled as a routine part of programming. Residents are also able to serve as community volunteers, are afforded opportunities for intellectual enrichment, and have a full roster of social activities to participate in, including rock climbing, drama/theatre, sporting events, etc. Additionally, residents are taught how to utilize community resources, such as the library, local support groups, and volunteer agencies to provide them with normalized experiences, assist with reintegration into the community, and provide for success and continued progress beyond discharge.
